Warren Amberson

As a founding member of Acoustic Endeavors, Warren’s many talents are a focal point of the group. He was originally the bass player when the band was first formed, then switched to mandolin when personel changes required it, and is now back on bass. He can be heard on both bass and mandolin on On A Farm.

His keen song writing dominates the band's repertoire, and his superb lead and harmony vocals and instrumental prowess are equally important.

Warren grew up near Vinton, VA (outside of Roanoke) and learned the dicipline of bluegrass music from Cecil Edwards, renowned Banjo player with Bluegrass Inspirations. His first band was The Tinker Creek Travellers.

Warren's professional credits include: starting the first recognized U.S. Army bluegrass band in Wurzburg, Germany, 3rd ID Army Band; playing professionally for 10 years in Europe with Kentucky Bluefield and Stage Gang; student band director at E.T.SU. under the direction of Jack Tottle; playing many prestigious stages including the Ryman Auditorium as a member of The Lost & Found.

Warren also had the honor of appearing with Tony Rice, Scott Vestal, Tony Williamson and Vassar Clements not long before Vassar's recent passing.
