Kelly, also a founding member and primary songwriter of Acoustic Endeavors, hails from Omaha, NE. She grew up in a musical family playing at home with her sister on fiddle, mom on guitar and dad on bass. Kelly took up old-time fiddle at age 7, taught by Laurier Birginal, a very influential man in old-time music in the mid-west. She played mandolin in her first band, Two Of A Kind, and finally took up guitar when she was 12.
Kelly adds her beautiful lead and harmony vocals to Acoustic Endeavors and is one of the back bones of the group with her rock solid rhythm guitar. Also notable are the original songs which she contributes to the repertoire. She started writing songs at age18 and her very first composition, Flowers For Emily, was recorded on the first Acoustic Endeavors CD, Coming Of Age.
An alumna of the E.T.SU. bluegrass program, she was also a student band director there under Jack Tottle. She played in an all female country band in Germany in the early 90's called Queens Of Heart plus her own German bluegrass band, The Kelly Green Band.
